Wayne Revolving
Loan Fund
The City of Wayne has been fortunate to obtain Community
Development Block Grant Funds from the Nebraska Department of Economic
Development. Once the initial loans were
repaid to the City of Wayne, a reuse plan was developed. The City may now loan the funds out again to
other qualifying businesses.
All projects must meet one of three national objectives:
- Benefiting low- and moderate-income persons; or
- Aiding in the prevention or elimination of slums or blight;
or,
- Meeting other community development needs having a particular
urgency because existing conditions pose a serious and immediate threat to
health or welfare of the community and other financial resources are not
available to meet such needs.
The City currently has 20 businesses using these funds. These funds are considered gap financing
funds and are used to help fill needs of businesses that banks or lending
institutions cannot meet.
The current guidelines are available below.
