EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Public Works Department

Wage rate is $9.98 to $13.09 per hour, plus excellent fringe benefits including group health and accident insurance, life insurance, retirement plan, and growth potential.  Experience desired operating and maintaining dump trucks, snow plows, tractors, loaders, chain saws, and large mowing equipment.  Also desire experience in carpentry, concrete installation, steel fabrication, and mechanics.  Computer experience is a plus.  Requires valid Nebraska driver's license and CDL (CDL can be obtained after hiring).  Residency in the City of Wayne is not required, but applicants should live within a 15 minute response time.  Applications are available by writing to the Personnel Manager or phoning 402-375-1733.  A pdf version of the job application is also available below.  Send completed applications with references to Personnel Office, 306 Pearl Street, PO Box 8, Wayne, NE  68787.  Applications for this position will be accepted until the vacancy is filled.  City of Wayne is EEO/AAE.

 

SENIOR CENTER OPERATIONS ASSISTANT

The City of Wayne is accepting applications for the position of a Senior Center Operations Assistant.  This is a part-time position (34 hours per week), with some benefits.  Wage rate is $7.81 to $10.25 per hour, depending upon qualifications and experience.  High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.  Under the direction of the Senior Center Coordinator.  The operations assistant will assist the Senior Center Coordinator with computer assignments, activities, decision making, staffing of volunteers, helping in the kitchen, and delivering meals on wheels as needed.  The assistant is expected to cover the hours when the coordinator is absent and do the decision making.  Application and job description are available by writing or phoning Personnel Office 402-375-1733.  A pdf version of the job application is also available by clicking the link below.  Completed application, résumé, and letter of interest are due by 5:00 p.m., Friday, July 17, 2009, to Personnel Office, 306 Pearl Street, Wayne, Nebraska 68787.  EOE
