Grandmapa Program

This program brings together volunteers and young children in daycare settings.  Volunteers can select from over 40 thematic reading kits containing books and fun activities to share with the children during the visits.  Six picture books are also checked out from the library collection to leave at the home between visits.  This program runs twice a month, September through May.  For more information or to volunteer, please contact the library at 375-3135.  (return to top)

Parenting Corner

  • Begun as a cooperative venture among area agencies, the Parenting Corner opened in September 2001.  Its intent is to offer materials that assist parents and caregivers to provide a healthier/more stable environment for area children.  Books and videos are available on a variety of topics for adults and children.    (return to top)

Summer Reading Program

This annual program is one of the most popular offered at WPL.  Beginning shortly after the end of the school year, two 5-week sessions offer weekly events centered around a central theme.  Children in pre-school through sixth grade can participate in one or both of the sessions.  (return to top)
