With the win the Wayne Juniors will be making a return trip to the Class B Junior Tournament in Sidney, Neb. The hero of the game was Drew Workman as Workman made and ESPN web-gem diving catch in left field to secure the win for Wayne in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the tying and winning runs on base, a deep fly ball was hit to left center that if not caught would have sent Blair to state instead of Wayne. Workman also had two hits and an RBI for Wayne. Offensive All-Star Zac Braun contributed a single and a standup triple, while Jacob Triggs also had two singled for Wayne. Tyler Schaefer, going on short rest threw a complete game four hitter to earn the win.
