The Recreation Department utilizes
several facilities for its programs. Those facilities are listed below.


Wayne Community Activity Center – 901 West 7th;

The WCAC opened November 18th,
2002, and is the location of the Recreation Department's offices, indoor
programs, soccer, and football. The $4.2 million facility was funded by a city
sales tax, grants, and donations. It has a 15,000+-sq. ft.
gymnasium with a 3 lane walking track
and up to 4 dividable courts, a 2000-sq. ft. Weight/Fitness Center, 2400-sq.
ft. Youth Center, 1800-sq. ft. Community Room, Concessions Area, Administrative
Offices, and locker rooms.
‘Hank' Overin Field

The
city baseball park was named after longtime successful coach Hank Overin in
1993 following his retirement. He coached the Wayne baseball teams for 29
years, leading them to 8 State Championships. It is the current location for
Junior and Senior Legion baseball games and practices from April to August. It
is maintained by the Recreation Department Staff.
Softball Complex – East of

The
Softball Complex is where all 6-18 year old softball, 6-14 year old baseball,
and adult softball programs are conducted. There are four agrilime surface
fields at this complex with ample parking.

City Swimming Pool – 13th

The
City Swimming Pool is where all swimming lessons and pool parties sponsored by
the City of Wayne are held.
