      INVESTIGATIONS

SUPERVISOR IN CHARGE

Due to the size of our department it is necessary for all of our patrol officers to investigate criminal violations too.  All of our cars are equipped with crime scene investigation equipment and digital cameras.

Lt. Philip Shear is the supervisor in charge of all ongoing criminal investigations for the Wayne Police Department.  Lt. Shear has been employed by the Wayne Police Department since May of 2000 and has previous experience with the Bakersfield (CA) Police Department and the Friend (NE) Police Department, where he served as Chief of Police.

Lt. Shear’s job is to be sure every police officer investigates any and all crimes reported to them in a quick and professional manner.  He monitors their follow up investigation and offers his expertise and assistance as needed.

If anyone has questions about any ongoing investigation or the investigative process in general Lt. Shear can be contacted by calling the Wayne Police Department at 375-2626 or by email at pshear@cityofwayne.org .
