Lighting
The Electric Distribution Dept. offers the service of locating it’s
underground electric utilities at no charge to the public. In order to obtain this service the customer
or contractor must call Diggers Hotline
@ 1-800-331-5666 at least 2 working days prior to the date of any
excavation. After the Distribution
Dept. receives the locate notice they will mark all electrical services within
the requested area.
The Electric Distribution Dept. offers meter testing at
the customer’s request, at the expense of the customer, any reasonable amount
of times. If the test shows the
electric meter to be running 2% or more fast, the expense of such test shall be
borne by the City. The city reserves
the right to test any electric service meter at any time; and if meter is found
to be beyond repair, the City shall always have the right to place a new meter
on the customer’s electric service fixtures at the City’s expense. It shall be unlawful for any person to
tamper with any electric meter, or by any means or device to divert electricity
from the service line so that the electricity shall not pass through the meter,
or while passing through the meter, to cause the meter to register
inaccurately.
Power Quality Monitoring
The Electric Distribution Dept. offers power quality
monitoring to residential customers and businesses. This service is currently at no charge to the customer. The power quality monitor used by the City
can monitor voltage and current fluctuations.
For larger customers with industrial loads, the City, with the help of
Nebraska Public Power Co., can establish a power quality analysis.
Dusk to Dawn Security Lighting
The City of Wayne offers the rental of outdoor dusk to
dawn security lighting. This service is
applicable only where the City deems the service practical. Service under this rate shall be unmetered
and the luminaries will operate
automatically from dusk to dawn. All facilities
necessary for service shall be installed, owned, and maintained by the
City. The customer, however, will be
responsible for the cost of replacing any parts of the facilities damaged by
vandalism.
